How to extend the life of the headset? As a company with more than 10 years of experience in the production of mobile phone headsets, Bluetooth headsets, and gaming headsets, I have summarized 10 suggestions for headset maintenance and shared with you!
After receiving a headset, we first need to turn on the headset. I believe everyone will know the reason for this. After the testimonial is opened, we can enjoy it, but as long as the testimonial is opened, everything will be fine? The answer is no, the quality of some earphones itself is very good. It is because we usually use carelessly that we make our beloved earphones premature Died! Here are some common situations in the process of repairing headphones, and I will give you some maintenance suggestions!
1. It is best not to wear headphones while sleeping. It is absolutely impossible for ordinary people to stay still overnight. After a long time, the headphone cord is either wrapped around the neck or the two cords are twisted together like twists. Some large headphones are even crushed. The 100 and 200 beams are also relatively fragile at the beginning! If some friends say that I can’t sleep if I don’t listen to songs, then it’s best to hang the earphones above your head with a rubber band tied to the earphone cable on the head of the bed. When you tilt your head when you fall asleep, the headset will be “pulled” down, no matter how you turn over, you won’t be pressed! The advantage of using a rubber band is that it acts as a buffer when pulling the earphones!
2. After using the earphones, wipe off the sweat on the earphone cable. These things secreted by the human body contain oil and so on, so that
The invisible killer of wire, such as e2c at the bend of the ear. Over time, the wire will age, which will eventually lead to seams and breaks.
3. It is best not to smoke when using headphones. When everyone is not careful, whether it is the earphone shell or the earphone cable is hot, can you not feel bad about it? ? ? In addition, soot will enter the earphone shell and stick to the diaphragm, and the sound will be wrong after a long time.
4. Be sure to turn down the volume before use. If the volume of your output device is too loud, it will not only shock your ears, but also shock the membrane folds. The severe ones burned the voice coil of the earphones.
5. Keep the earphone away from strong magnetism. The magnetism of the unit will decrease, and the sensitivity will decrease over time!
6. Keep the earphones away from moisture. The pads in the headphone unit will be rusty, and the resistance will increase, and your headphones will be biased.
7, the plug part. Some friends like to put mp3 or something in their trouser pockets, the outlet part of the plug is easy to fold, and it will be disconnected after a long time.
8. Do not disassemble. The curiosity is too strong, just open it and take a look. Some earphones are difficult to disassemble, mx500 cannot be disassembled without special methods, even if you disassemble 80% of them, it will be broken. If the small 2 is opened, the shell may be damaged, or there may be a partial sound. The 888 and 808 are okay, and they are better.
9. It is best not to use it outside in winter. In the cold winter, the wire is hard and brittle, and excessive bending can easily break the wire. Do not heat the headphone cable at this time, as the high temperature will accelerate the aging of the cable.
10. Keep away from chemicals. The paint on the earphone shell is very soluble in organic chemicals.
These are all clichés, and to say it is to hope that everyone’s headphones can be used for a few more years!
I have repaired a lot of earphones. I think I have summarized some experience, so I summarized and shared resources with everyone. I also hope you prawns criticize and correct me.
Summarizing the cause of the earphone failure, it is nothing more than membrane collapse, membrane cracking, membrane shedding, iron powder, voice coil disconnection, earphone cable disconnection, earphone cable hardening, earphone cable cracking, shell damage, and sound transmission hole blocked , Film deterioration, etc. I will talk about the cause of the failure in a few pieces.
1. How to deal with membrane collapse, membrane cracking, membrane shedding, and iron powder
Generally, when the general earphone has broken sound, noise, and lack of bass, it is generally considered that the above reasons may be caused. First, open the earphone shell. For the earphone with a soft sleeve structure, remove the soft sleeve first, and then use pointed tweezers and other sharp tools to pick up the iron mesh and steel cover, etc., until the film is fully exposed. For hard-shell headphones, first use a small flat-head screwdriver to draw a circle at the joint, and then generally can be easily opened, and finally the film is fully exposed. Big earphones are another matter. In short, all earphone membranes should be exposed to facilitate operation.
Membrane collapse. For the failure of membrane collapse, use tweezers to hold a small piece of double-sided tape and gently lift up where the membrane collapsed. Pay attention to the size of the control intensity. After the membrane is restored, put it back in its original form.
The film is cracked, it is unlikely to be repaired, and the sound quality will be damaged even if it is repaired. However, there are also successful treatments, and the damage to the sound quality is very light and can be ignored. Dip a needle with 704 glue (also called vulcanized silica gel) and apply it to the cracks. Be careful not to be too thick, just cover the cracks. Then install the shell. Remember not to go to the audition right away, you should wait for two days and try again. Because vulcanized silica gel dries slowly.
The film comes off, apply a little with 704 or fish bead glue to stick it. Pay attention to sticking flat and pressing tightly. Put it back and leave it for one day.
Pour in iron powder, dip a cotton swab in water and then remove the iron powder, and then deal with the film collapse.
2. How to deal with a broken voice coil
It is good to measure the wire if the earphone is silent. There is no conduction between the two solder joints behind the measuring unit. It is judged that the voice coil is broken. At present, most earplugs are generally changed to lead from the side of the membrane. Although this will have a slight impact on the sound quality, it greatly reduces the possibility of the lead wire breaking. Nevertheless, it is still often due to human factors that the unit rotates and the wire is broken. When repairing, use a blade to lift the membrane, and then pick up the voice coil wire with the tip of a needle. Separate the two wires and pull the wires out in the opposite direction of the winding direction. Be very cautious when applying force and pay attention to the different directions of the two wires. If you can’t pull it, don’t pull it hard, but use a thin headphone cable to extend the voice coil cable. It is best to use a magnifying glass to assist when concentrating the wires. The wires should be tinned first, and then solder the wires with a pointed soldering iron. And use 704 glue to paste the wire on the earphone membrane. Then glue the earphone membrane and solder the two voice coil wires to the solder joints on the back. It is best to use hot melt to protect the wire behind the support to prevent it from being broken again. Generally, the repair success rate of headphones with a copper ring on the membrane will be higher, and the impact on the sound quality will be less.
3. How to deal with the headphone cable disconnection and headphone cable cracking
Headphone disconnection usually occurs behind the headphone plug, the headphone splitter, and the headphone unit outlet.
At the headphone plug, when the headphone contact is poor. A response at the moving plug indicates that the disconnection is here. Cut the headphone cord from here. Then strip the wire to find the broken wire, and cut the wire core neatly. There are a total of 4 lines, namely the left channel, the left channel, the right channel, and the right channel. They are distinguished by color. For the plugs, the grounds of the left and right channels are connected together. The earphone cable is covered with insulating varnish, so it cannot be measured directly with a meter. You should plate the wire with tin first. The specific method of operation is to first apply rosin or solder paste on the wire, and then use a soldering iron dipped in tin to burn the wire until the solder infiltrates the wire. Then it is best to disassemble the earphone shell and use a meter to test the four wires to check for other disconnections. If it is normal, there is only this one disconnection. Then peel off the soft sleeve outside the headphone head and put it on the wire, and cut the hard plastic behind the plug with a blade to expose the solder joints. Then solder the wires one by one. Generally, the two grounds are welded to the thickest part, the right channel is welded in the middle, and the left channel is welded to the thinnest part. Generally, the two yellow wires are the ground wire, the red wire is the right channel, and the green wire is the left channel. Of course there are exceptions, it is best to take the unit apart and measure it. After soldering, check to prevent short circuit in pairs. Then plug it into the machine and try again. Use the tunes you are familiar with (the tunes that can distinguish between the left and right channels). If it is reversed, change the left and right wires (the wires on the middle and the thinnest solder joints), and perform the bandaging after testing and confirming. Wrap a few turns with white medical tape, thick enough to fit into the soft cover. Pay attention to bandage the thread and head together. Then soak the tape with 502 glue to make it stronger. At this time, you can use a vise to clamp the tape-wrapped area evenly. Then apply some 704 glue on the top and stuff it into the soft cover. With good craftsmanship, you can’t tell that you have moved your hands or feet. It can be used after the glue is dry.
4. How to deal with the disconnection of the headphone cable at the bifurcation
Same as the troubleshooting method at the plug, when the earphone does not sound, the line here is intermittently pushed. It can be determined that the line is broken here. If one does not sound, if it is broken by accident, don’t do unnecessary trouble. Just cut the broken one. If it has been used for a long time, cut both of them. Because there is a problem with one of the long-used ones, the other one is not far away. It is best to make a thorough repair at a time, cut the headphone cable from the opening and then peel the cable a little. Find the broken wire and cut it neatly. Then put a heat-shrinkable tube on the broken wire, and then twist the wire of the same color. Then apply some rosin or solder paste, and use a soldering iron dipped in solder to burn until the solder wets the wire. Use a little tape for insulation. Then apply 502 sets of heat-shrinkable tubes on both ends of the line, blow them with hot air xxx or bake them with a lighter. After the heat-shrinkable tube shrinks, 502 glues the thread skins at both ends of the break point and the heat-shrinkable tube together. It doesn’t matter even if you pull hard. For SONY with a plastic tube, the breakpoint can be hidden in the plastic tube, so that the scars are completely invisible.
5. How to deal with the outgoing part of the headphone unit
Disassemble the earphone shell (refer to the unpacking method in Part 1), and use a soldering iron to iron the wire from the unit. Lengthen the thread until the broken part is exposed, and cut off that end. Then strip the wire apart. Plating tin on the wire (refer to Part 3 for tinning method), and then solder it to the unit. Pay attention to the polarity when soldering the wire. Generally, the output wire (red, green or blue, etc.) is connected to the marked point, and the ground wire (usually yellow) is connected to the point where there is no point. Test after welding. Finally, install the shell. This treatment often shortens the original headphone cord. The solution is to change the cord from the fork or remove the knot at the fork, then pull the cord down a bit, and re-knot the cord with a heat-shrinkable tube or rope. If the lengths of the two wires are not equal, you can treat both wires.
6. How to deal with the headphone cable crack and change the cable
The partial crack of the headphone cable can be treated with a heat shrinkable tube, that is, remove the headphone unit, first open the headphone shell, and then use a soldering iron to iron the headphone cable out. Note that it is best to mark the left and right channels before extracting. Then cut a suitable heat shrinkable tube and put it on. Apply a little 502 glue to the cracked area. Then use hot air xxx or bake it with a lighter to shrink the heat shrink tube. (For the removal and installation method, please refer to the previous article) I think there is no need to say more about the method of changing the line. I will talk a little bit about the method of selecting wires. For different grades of headphones, it is best to choose different grades of wires. High-end earphones use ordinary wires to limit the performance, while low-end earphones with too high-end wires can not improve the performance much, and it is a bit oversized and not economical to use. For low-end earphones, you can choose general oxygen-free copper wire, mid-end earphones with single crystal oxygen-free copper wire, and high-end earphones with crystalline copper wire. Generally, there are many fakes of low-grade oxygen-free copper wire, it is best to find the headphone cable that is disassembled.
7 How to deal with case damage and clogged sound hole
If the shell is damaged, you can disassemble the earphone shell and wash it with alcohol. After drying, stick it with 502 glue. Install it after the glue is completely dry. Some people often use 502 glue to stick the earphone shell easily off. In fact, this approach is not advisable. Because firstly, the 502 glue has strong permeability and is easy to flow into the earphone unit and damage it; secondly, the 502 glue is too strong to make repairs again difficult. It is recommended that you use 704 silica gel and fish bead universal glue, and pay attention to the dosage.
